Industrial
parks are confined areas, which are mainly involved with economic,
scientific research and technological development activities are performed
by using the human and material potential available in the region.
More commonly it is an area of land reserved for industrial development.
The Industrial parks are generally located nearby transport facilities,
which include highways, railroads, airports, and navigable rivers. Sometime
it is also called office park, having offices and light industry instead of
heavy industries.
Industrial parks are assembly of companies in physical proximity. The
primary motivations of building an industrial park outside the city is the
deteriorating accessibilities of cities, the limitations of space for new
developments and projects, and lower costs of land. They are recognized for
their high intensity of labor and visitors. They are contributing to
road-based commuter and business transport.
